This Sunday, January 26, music's biggest superstars will take the stage for the 56th Grammy Awards, the annual celebration of the best music of the year. Many of the artists who have been nominated for Grammy Awards this year have been vocally and fervently supportive of the LGBT community - and many of the songs themselves directly call for respect for same-sex couples and equality for all people, no matter who they love.

This year, songs like "Same Love" by Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, and Mary Lambert and "Brave" by Sara Bareilles have encouraged support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. It's been perhaps the biggest year for messages of LGBT equality in music, many from non-gay allies - and that's something to celebrate.
