Save the Date for the National Engagement Party!

This fall, Freedom to Marry will be working to provide more ways than ever for our supporters to get engaged. We know that winning marriage at the ballot this November in key battleground states, including Maine, Minnesota, and Washington, is critical - we're determined to take away our opponents' last desperate talking point that says we can't win a vote. By getting our supporters involved across the country, we know that we can drum up a huge fall push toward the freedom to marry in these states.

That's why we're launching the National Engagement Party, a nation-wide house party event that's designed to raise awareness and boost funds to increase the intensity of key ballot campaigns. The events will take place simultaneously on Saturday, October 13, and we want all of our supporters to join us!

We're looking for people who support marriage for same-sex couples who want to pitch in and host a house party to help Freedom to Marry and the state-level campaigns win marriage at the ballot in November. Party hosts who raise $2,500 or above will be in the running to win an awesome prize: a trip for two to Mexico or the Caribbean, sponsored by Orbitz! All of the donations collected in honor of the National Engagement Party will go toward Freedom to Marry's Win More States Fund, which we launched in March to channel funds strategically into key states where the marriage campaigns need big pushes toward victory.

We have six great anchor events, and we anticipate dozens of grassroots events hosted by local supporters throughout the country. There will be tons of opportunities to get engaged with Freedom to Marry on October 13.

Check out more information about each of our anchor events:

If you're not able to host, you can still join in on the fun and energy behind the National Engagement Party by telling us you're interested in attending

Our National Honorary Host Committee is already gearing up for the nationwide event, and we hope you can join them. Advocates like actress Anne Hathaway, newlyweds Chris Hughes and Sean Eldridge, Tony-winning performer Audra McDonald, Thomas Roberts, Bishop Gene Robinson, Tony-winning producer Jordan Roth, "It Gets Better" project founder Dan Savage, and Freedom to Marry board member Frank Selvaggi have signed on as honorary hosts, and they couldn't be more excited to lead the charge toward victory at the ballot box in November.

Make sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, October 13, and sign up to host or attend a house party! With our majority support for the freedom to marry throughout the country, we know that people are passionate about standing up for all families and winning marriage for same-sex couples. This is your chance to make a big difference!
