Beyond his involvement with other freedom to marry campaigns around the country, Kevin served as lead communications specialist for the Americans for Workplace Opportunity coalition in its successful efforts to secure Senate passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Earlier in his career, Kevin was communications director of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, which led the work to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell; a deputy at Media Matters for America; and an aide to two U.S. Senators from Texas. Kevin began his career at the consulting firm Public Strategies, Inc., in Austin, after receiving his MA from Johns Hopkins University in Government and BA from Tulane.
